A 62-year-old man has been arrested in the hit-and-run collision that resulted in the death of 16-year-old Kevin Dhillon Tuesday night in Whalley.
The man was arrested Wednesday afternoon at his residence and faces charges of criminal negligence causing death and failure to remain at the scene of an accident.
The suspect is cooperating with police and has been released from custody until charges are formally laid by Crown prosecutors.
The crash happened at 96th Avenue and 123A Street when Dhillon was struck by a silver Honda Accord making a left hand turn.
Dhillon was taken to hospital but was announced dead.
A candlelight vigil by Dhillon's family and friends was held at Holland Park Wednesday night.
