Surrey Gang Member Ibrahim Amjad Ibrahim Found Dead In Richmond Park

Darpan News Desk, 12 Oct, 2017 10:10 AM
  • Surrey Gang Member Ibrahim Amjad Ibrahim Found Dead In Richmond Park

A body found in a Richmond’s Garden City Park Tuesday has been identified as that of a 30-year-old Ibrahim Amjad Ibrahim from Surrey.

In a release, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) said that it’s too early to tell whether Ibrahim’s gang ties led directly to his death, and investigators are still working to determine the motive for the killing.

Investigators said he was found dead at shortly after 4 a.m.

IHIT is working closely with the Richmond RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Section and the B.C. Coroner’s Service during this evidence gathering phase.

“Mr. Ibrahim was known to police and investigators believe his murder was targeted. Mr. Ibrahim was associated to gangs but to say these associations are the reason for his murder would be premature. It remains early in the investigation and investigators are working to determine motive,” Cpl. Frank Jang said in a news release.

“This is yet another life that has been lost too soon. It is a reminder that if you are involved in or associated to criminal activity, then you are not immune to its inherent dangers.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.

Should you wish to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers by phone at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
