Surrey council to vote on the city's largest road project

Surrey council is voting tonight on what the city calls its largest-ever road project.

The 72 Avenue Corridor project includes an extension from 152 Street to Highway 15 and has an estimated price tag of 150-million dollars.

Mayor Brenda Locke says in a statement that the improvements would ease congestion by enhancing east-west connectivity in Surrey.

Tonight, Council will vote on the 72 Avenue Corridor project, which marks the largest road investment in the City's history. The project includes a road extension from 152 Street to Highway 15.

If approved, the project has been divided into three stages, with the last of the work expected to wrap up in 2027.

All 13 provincial and territorial premiers are aligned on a push for the federal government to negotiate a bilateral trade deal with the United States, Ontario Premier Doug Ford said Wednesday. Lineup released for the Invictus Games

Vancouver Whistler Games Corporation has announced the lineup for the closing ceremonies of the 2025 Invictus Games. Avian flu at 2 farms in Abbotsford

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says it has detected the presence of highly pathogenic avian influenza at two more commercial poultry farms in Abbotsford. The agency currently lists 43 premises in B-C where the flu has been detected in bird flocks.
