String of robberies in Surrey

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 01 Nov, 2024 12:14 PM
  • String of robberies in Surrey

Police in Surrey say they're investigating a series of residential robberies believed to be linked to similar break-and-enter incidents in other areas of the Lower Mainland.

Surrey R-C-M-P say the suspects work in a team of three, targeting large, single-family homes that are unoccupied at the time, often between 5 and 9 p-m.

The suspects are all men wearing hoods and balaclavas to cover their faces, and investigators believe they watch the homes before carrying out the robberies.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Surrey R-C-M-P detachment, and the Mounties are encouraging residents to be on the lookout.

The comments come a day after Mexico's president told reporters Tuesday he has put relations with the Canadian and U.S. embassies "on pause" because of comments from the two countries about a proposed judicial overhaul.

The Coquitlam R-C-M-P is urging parents to be mindful of what information about their children they share online. The Mounties say while sharing a back-to-school photo can be exciting, it could also give away important and private information without intention.
