String of robberies in Surrey

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 01 Nov, 2024 12:14 PM
  • String of robberies in Surrey

Police in Surrey say they're investigating a series of residential robberies believed to be linked to similar break-and-enter incidents in other areas of the Lower Mainland.

Surrey R-C-M-P say the suspects work in a team of three, targeting large, single-family homes that are unoccupied at the time, often between 5 and 9 p-m.

The suspects are all men wearing hoods and balaclavas to cover their faces, and investigators believe they watch the homes before carrying out the robberies.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Surrey R-C-M-P detachment, and the Mounties are encouraging residents to be on the lookout.

It's not clear yet when the shuffle will happen but the source, who spoke on background, says it could be by the end of next week. It won't happen before all Liberal caucus members are expected to meet on Parliament Hill on Oct. 23, a meeting that could be quite tense amid another movement among Liberal MPs to push Trudeau to resign.

Vancouver Island Police search for missing woman
Police on Vancouver Island are appealing to the public for information that could help them find a woman reported missing more than two years ago. R-C-M-P say they believe Amber Manthorne's disappearance in July 2022 was the result of foul play, and it's unlikely the 40-year-old will be found alive.
