Police in Richmond say they're looking for people who may have witnessed an unprovoked stranger assault in the city's downtown core this past Tuesday.
R-C-M-P say the victim was punched in the face and suffered minor injuries in the alleged attack that occurred at around noon along Number 3 Road, across from the C-F Richmond Centre.
The Mounties say the alleged attacker had been in a mall just before the assault.
The suspect is described as a Black man with a heavy build, and anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the R-C-M-P.
Mounties are warning of the latest bank card scam that has taken in a few people in Burnaby. Police say they've had five reports of people getting calls from someone saying their bank or credit card had been compromised.
Police in Sooke say a female has died after being struck by a vehicle. R-C-M-P say the incident happened at about 5:30 this morning. Police say emergency responders attempted to save the woman, but she didn't survive.
