Canada posted a merchandise trade surplus of 972-million-dollars in March as imports fell more than exports.

Statistics Canada reports that was up from a revised deficit of 487-million-dollars in February. 

Total imports fell 2.9 per cent to 62.6-billion-dollars, which is a 12-month low while total exports fell 0.7 per cent to 63.6-billion-dollars.
