Darpan News Desk IANS, 16 Feb, 2018 01:30 PM
  • Spiny Dogfish Returned Home After Rehab
Vancouver Aquarium officials say a rescued and rehabilitated shark has been released into Burrard Inlet following six months of rehabilitation.

The female shark, a North Pacific spiny dogfish, was found entangled in a fishing net on a beach in August of last year.

Officials say the shark was weak and disoriented and had significant skin wounds from the net and from being washed up repeatedly on the sandy shore.

The aquarium says it's the first rescue, rehabilitation and release of a shark in its 62-year history.
