Vancouver business owners and residents will face a property-tax increase in 2024, but it’s smaller than last year’s double-digit spike.
Vancouver's city council has approved a 7.5-per-cent property-tax increase in 2024.
A statement from the city says the council approved a 10.7-per-cent increase in property taxes last year in order to fund core services, including police and fire rescue.
Mayor Ken Sim says although they still have more work to do in the years ahead, a smaller spike in the property tax increase in 2024 shows the city is making progress.
