Spider causes family to be webbed into police investigation

Darpan News Desk Surrey RCMP, 12 Mar, 2021 05:37 PM
  • Spider causes family to be webbed into police investigation

An itsy-bitsy spider made a surprise appearance inside a vehicle over the weekend leading to a suspicious vehicle investigation in Newton.

Surrey RCMP received calls from concerned members of the public after a woman in distress was spotted inside a newer model white Toyota RAV4. The suspicious circumstance was observed on Saturday, March 6, 2021 around 4:30 p.m. in the area of 141 St and 61 Ave.

The Surrey RCMP General Investigation Unit tracked down the man and woman who were driving the RAV4 and confirmed that no criminal activity had taken place. This incident was in fact, caused by a spider.

The spider made a surprise appearance in the car causing a bit of a scramble and led to the woman to cry out for help. The woman then opened her door while the vehicle was in motion in an attempt to shoo the spider out. Needless to say, neither of these people had intended to cause any alarm to the public.
