Speed Likely Factor In Motorcycle Crash On Highway 99 That Killed 22-Year-Old Surrey Man: Police

The Canadian Press, 08 Jun, 2015 11:03 AM
VANCOUVER — Police say a motorcyclist has died after losing control and being thrown over a highway barricade in West Vancouver.

Emergency crews responded to the crash on Highway 99 just before 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Officers say a 22-year-old Surrey man died at the scene and his name isn't being released at this time.

Police say witnesses reported seeing a motorcyclist striking a barricade before he was propelled several metres into a roadside embankment north of Horseshoe Bay.

Speed is being investigated as the primary cause of the crash.

Police say the rider was wearing a helmet-mounted camera and that investigators will analyze video that was being recorded.
