Speed A Factor In Crash That Killed 68-Year-Old Man On Oak Street: Vancouver Police

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 14 Nov, 2015 02:09 PM
  • Speed A Factor In Crash That Killed 68-Year-Old Man On Oak Street: Vancouver Police
Vancouver police say speed is likely a factor in a crash that killed one man and sent another to hospital on Saturday.

Const. Brian Montague says a vehicle making a left turn on 41st Avenue was struck by a car heading north on Oak Street.

The 68-year-old Vancouver man who had been making the left turn was rushed to hospital with significant injuries and did not survive.

The driver of the northbound car is a 34-year-old Richmond resident who is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Montague says collision investigators are probing the crash but evidence and witness reports indicate the speed of the northbound car was a factor.

He says having to tell someone their loved one died in a car crash is a horrific job that police are doing far too often.
