Well known Red FM 93.1 South Asian radio broadcaster and media personality Mr.Harjinder Thind was awarded with the presitigious Queen's Platinum Jubilee Medal. The commemorative medal marks the 70th anniversary of the Late Queen Elizabeth's coronation. 

The honor was bestowed upon Thind by Fleetwood-Port Kells MP Ken Hardie. Hardie was present for the award at the Red FM 93.1 studio in Surrey. 

Thind was an active debater in his school and college years and well argued with impressive rebuttals during his presentation.

His morning talk show on Red FM 93.1 is the most listened to talk show in the South Asian community in Canada. The show puts a spotlight on political issues, current affairs, and news.

He is known for his interviews conducted with a hard hitting style. He doesn't shy away from exploring the art, culture, and entertainment realm. He has also interviewed many famous artists and celebrities. 

His morning show can be heard on 93.1FM and 89.1FM from 7:30am-11am Monday-Friday.

RCMP have not said what motivated the attacks on Sunday that left 10 people dead and 18 injured on the James Smith Cree Nation and nearby village of Weldon, northeast of Saskatoon. Police believe some victims were targeted but others were chosen at random.
