Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the South Klondike Highway from Carcross to White Pass in Yukon.

It says a front approaching from the west will bring between 20 and 30 centimetres. 

The weather office says the snowfall will subside to occasional flurries this evening.

It's suggesting people postpone non-essential travel in the region, saying visibility may be reduced.

Mary Simon granted Justin Trudeau's request Monday to prorogue Parliament until Mar. 24, suspending activities of the House of Commons while the Liberals move to replace him as both Liberal Leader and prime minister.
