Six-Year-Old Girl Dead, Father Missing In North Vancouver Boating Incident

The Canadian Press, 27 Jul, 2015 12:19 PM
VANCOUVER — A six-year-old girl has died in a boating incident north of Vancouver.

RCMP say the girl's body was found in the water Saturday night after a boat was discovered drifting near Anvil Island in Howe Sound.

The Mounties say crews are still searching for the girl's father, a 60-year-old man from North Vancouver.

The missing man may have ended up on shore, so a land search is also underway.

Police say there's no indication of foul play but that they aren't ruling anything out.

Naval Lft. Paul Trenholm says the Coast Guard was dispatched after a fellow boater spotted an empty vessel adrift Saturday night
