SIX NATIONS INDIAN RESERVE, Ont. — Police say three men face first-degree murder charges after a shooting at the Six Nations Reserve near Brantford, in southern Ontario.

Six Nations police say officers found a teenage boy and two men who had been wounded, along with an SUV with gunshot damage, on Wednesday afternoon.

The boy and one of the men were taken to a Hamilton hospital, while police say another man refused to go to the hospital and was treated at the scene.

Police say 16-year-old Ashton VanEvery died of his wounds. The other victim is in serious but stable condition.

Investigators say they identified three suspects and after discussions with family, they surrendered and face charges of first-degree murder.

Police say Dwight Ronald Walton, 19, Kenneth Paul Appleton, 24, and Irvin Allan Maracle, 56, are custody pending a bail hearing.
