On August 21, 2021, at 2:47 am, Surrey RCMP along with Emergency Health Services and Surrey Fire Service responded to the report of a single vehicle collision into a tree in the 16000-block of 104th Avenue.

Upon attendance, it was determined that all three occupants of the vehicle were deceased.

According to the Surrey Now, the deceased have been identified Caleb Reimer, Ronin Sharma, and Parker Magnuson between the ages of 16-17 years old.

The 3 teenage boys played hockey with the Delta Hockey Academy.

The Delta Hockey Academy expressed their sorrow regarding the incident via a Twitter post.

The families of all the victims have been notified over this tragic and heartbreaking news.

The Cloverdale Minor Hockey Association took to Twitter to express their sorrow over this tragic accident.

People took to social media to express their shock over the news of the deceased, accoridng to one man, one of the victims was on his way to making it to the NHL.

This investigation is still ongoing however, it has been determined that high speed was a factor in the early morning collision that claimed the lives of three teens. Investigators have determined that the vehicle was travelling at a speed significantly greater than the posted speed limit at the time of the collision.

The Integrated Collison Analysis and Reconstructive Service (ICARS) and the Surrey RCMP Criminal Collison Investigation Team (CCIT) are continuing to investigate, working cooperatively with the BC Coroner’s Service. Further information is not expected to be released by Surrey RCMP.

All evidence has been gathered from the scene of the collision and roads have been re-opened to the public.

“Undoubtedly the community as a whole will be deeply impacted by this heartbreaking loss.” Says RCMP Media Relations Officer Cpl. Vanessa Munn “Support is being offered to the families of the boys and arrangements are being made to offer additional support to the community.”
