Sinclair Group Forest Products to halt operations temporarily

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 02 May, 2023 12:44 PM
  • Sinclair Group Forest Products to halt operations temporarily

Sinclar Group Forest Products has announced plans to temporarily curtail lumber operations at three northern B-C operations over the next few months.

Lakeland Mills in Prince George is set to be curtailed for the month of July, while Nechako Lumber Co. in Vanderhoof will be curtailed from May 14th to July 29th and Apollo Forest Products in Fort St. James will be curtailed in June.

Sinclar president says the high cost of wood fibre compounded by poor market conditions have forced the company to make the decisions.

The curtailments follow a series of temporary and permanent shutdowns at mills in northern B-C and on Vancouver Island earlier this year.
