Shopkeeper attacked in Vancouver

Vancouver police say a shopkeeper was attacked while leaving work in east Vancouver Saturday night.

V-P-D is praising three passersby who intervened and prevented the 23-year-old victim from being seriously injured.

Police say the victim was grabbed from behind by a man who was carrying a knife while leaving work in Mount Pleasant shortly before 9 p.m. and the suspect allegedly threatened to stab her.

Three Good Samaritans managed to step in and call 9-1-1 after hearing the woman calling for help and police say the suspect is in custody.

Police in Metro Vancouver say a fire that destroyed a building used to store athletic equipment has been declared suspicious in nature. Delta Police say investigators have yet to identify any suspects in the blaze that occurred near a park in Tsawwassen early in the morning on May 17th.

R-C-M-P in Surrey say two men face a series of charges after being found with two stolen vehicles. The Mounties say a report of a stolen work van led police to arrest the two suspects last week.
