Surrey RCMP is advising the public that the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called out following a shooting inside of a residence in South Surrey.

On April 6, 2022, just before 1:30 a.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of shots fired at a residence in the 15200-block of 24 Avenue. Frontline officers attended and located an injured 33-year-old man. The victim was transported to hospital and due to the serious nature of his injuries is not expected to survive.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called and will be working in partnership with the Surrey RCMP. 

Based on initial information this does not appear to be a random act.

Police are currently in the evidence gathering phase, no further information will be provided at this time. Further details and media availability will be handled by the IHIT Media Relations Officer.
