Senior pedestrian dies in crash

Vancouver Police are seeking witnesses to a collision involving an 85-year-old pedestrian who later died in hospital.

Police say in a news release the collision happened on Dec. 15 when the man was struck by a 2001 Toyota Sienna as he was crossing Victoria Drive at the East Broadway intersection.

They say his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening at the time, but he died in hospital.

Police say the driver was an 83-year-old Vancouver woman.

Anyone who saw the collision or was in the area between 4:40 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Dec. 15, is asked to call VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit.

Drug-trafficking investigation leads to charges against 19 people in northern B.C.

Federal prosecutors have approved charges against 19 people, eight of them still at large, after an investigation into what police call a violent drug trafficking network in northeastern British Columbia.
