Searchers Close To Pinpointing Lost Hikers On Mount Seymour

The Canadian Press, 24 Sep, 2015 11:09 AM
  • Searchers Close To Pinpointing Lost Hikers On Mount Seymour
VANCOUVER — Searchers believe they are close to pinpointing the location of a Richmond, B.C., couple who has spent the night lost on Mount Seymour, in North Vancouver.

Members of North Shore Rescue say phone contact has been made with the 51-year-old woman and 55-year-old man.

That has helped crews narrow the search, although teams in a helicopter are still trying to spot them from the air.

Rescuers report the two say they are okay and may try to make their own way to safety.

Concern was growing because teams could not make voice contact with the pair on Tuesday night and knew they were not equipped for an overnight stay.

The couple set out Tuesday morning for a five hour hike to the summit of Mount Seymour.
