Darpan News Desk Surrey RCMP, 16 Sep, 2022 10:45 AM
  • Search warrant at a Surrey convenience store leads to seizure of fentanyl and large amount of cash

Surrey RCMP is informing the public of ongoing enforcement action targeting drug trafficking in the City Centre area.

On August 30, 2022, Surrey RCMP Drug Unit executed a search warrant at a convenience store located in the 10200-block of City Parkway. Investigation lead the police to believe that the business was being used to facilitate drug trafficking in the area.

A search warrant was executed at the business, where police seized:

  • 203 grams of bulk and street level pre-packaged fentanyl
  • 38 grams of methamphetamine
  • 17 grams of cocaine
  • 300 hydromorphone pills
  • 278 grams of Marijuana and approximately $150,000 cash

The bulk fentanyl alone represents over 2,000 potentially fatal doses taken off our streets, says Surrey RCMP Media Relations officer, Cst Sarbjit K. Sangha. We will be keeping a close eye on this location, which has been a hot spot for drug dealing and violence.

Police will be recommending charges against at least 4 individuals for trafficking and possession for the purposes of trafficking an illicit substance.
