Sascha Hedrich Identified As A Man Killed In Highway 1 Tour Bus Collision

    CHASE, B.C. — British Columbia's coroners service has identified the man who died in last week's collision involving a tour bus on a notorious section of the Trans-Canada Highway.
     
    Nineteen-year-old Sascha Hedrich of Pritchard, B.C., died while driving a stretch of road in the province's Interior known as Hoffman's Bluff, east of Kamloops.
     
    Police say witnesses saw Hedrich's vehicle cross the centre line and collide head-on with an oncoming tour bus carrying Korean tourists.
     
    Twenty-one bus passengers were treated in hospital for various injuries.
     
    This accident marks the third tour bus crash this year in the province.
     
    B.C. transportation officials say the incidents will be part of a recently announced safety review of the tour bus industry.
