Rob Ford Says No New Tumours Found Months After Surgery For Rare Cancer

The Canadian Press, 11 Sep, 2015 12:27 PM
TORONTO — Former Toronto mayor Rob Ford says doctors haven't found any new tumours months after his surgery for a rare and aggressive form of cancer.

The controversial politician, now a city councillor, told the Toronto radio station Newstalk1010 that he underwent a CAT scan last week and received positive results.

But he says he's not out of the woods yet when it comes to his recovery, and continues to see a nurse every day.

Ford was diagnosed as he was campaigning for re-election last September.

He abandoned his mayoralty bid and ran for a council seat instead while his brother Doug ran unsuccessfully for mayor in the October vote.

Ford's surgery in May followed several rounds of chemotherapy and radiation which he said had reduced his tumour to an operable size.
