Ridge Meadows RCMP Looking For Man Accused Of Offering Ride To 12-Year-Old Girl

    MAPLE RIDGE, B.C. — Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who allegedly offered a 12-year-old girl a ride home near a school in Maple Ridge, B.C.


    Ridge Meadows RCMP received a report about a man who approached a girl near Golden Ears Elementary School on March 11 at about 4:30 p.m.


    Mounties say he offered her a ride but she said "no" and arrived home safely.


    The man left the area in a vehicle without further incident.


    RCMP have released a composite sketch and a video that captured an image of the vehicle, a later-model silver or gold Ford SUV.


    The suspect is described as white, about 35 to 45 years old, clean shaven with balding lighter grey hair and wearing a grey zip-up hoodie.


    "This young girl did the right thing in saying no and immediately returning home and telling an adult she knows," Insp. Aaron Paradis says in a news release.


    "Police are trying to put together the pieces of the puzzle here and would like to speak with the alleged suspect. If you know who this person may be please contact us."

     

    The suspect is described as;

    Caucasian male
    Approximately 35 to 45 years old
    Balding lighter grey hair
    Clean shaven
    Wearing a grey zip up hoody
