Richmond RCMP Looking For Witnesses To Pedestrian Accident

Darpan News Desk , 12 Jan, 2018 11:56 AM
Shortly before 5:00 PM on December 30, 2017 Richmond RCMP attended the 6000 Block of Minoru Boulevard after a pedestrian was struck by a single vehicle.

The pedestrian, a 75 year old female from Richmond, sustained multiple injuries as a result of the collision. She was transported to a local area hospital where she remains in stable condition.

The driver, a 53 year old male from Richmond, remained on scene and is cooperating with police.

Richmond RCMP investigators have spoken with a witness who called 911 but unfortunately, this witness did not see the events leading up to the collision.

Investigators are working to establish what happened in the time leading up to the collision, says Acting Corporal Adriana Peralta. This is a busy area of Richmond and there is a high probability that there were multiple witnesses to it and we need their help.

Richmond RCMP have conducted a canvass of the area for video surveillance. The initial canvass has been negative but there may be dash cams or cell phones out there that captured the collision.

Anyone with information pertaining to this investigation can contact Constable Jimm JANSON of the Richmond RCMP Road Safety Unit at 604-278-1212 by email at Richmond_Tips@rcmp-grc.gc.ca

Should you wish to remain anonymous, please contact Crimestoppers by phone at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
