Darpan News Desk, 30 Jul, 2019 07:59 PM
  • Richmond RCMP Arrest Man For Luggage Theft At Airport

The Richmond RCMP investigation into recent thefts of luggage at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is continuing and recently resulted in the identification and arrest of a single male suspect.

The thief's image was captured on surveillance video the day of the theft and circulated to police & security personnel at YVR. One week after the theft the suspect returned to YVR and was identified by an on duty RCMP officer and quickly arrested before he could steal again.

Police are continuing to work closely with YVR Security and are conducting a full investigation tracing the suspect's steps to determine whether he was working alone or if there were any accomplices.

The RCMP strongly recommends that whenever travelling to be extra mindful of your possessions and to be sure to report suspicious person/activities to authorities.
