Richmond Police Investigating Alleged Sex Assault Of Young Woman

    Richmond RCMP is investigating the alleged sexual assault of a young female that occurred during the early evening hours of October 7, 2016.
     
    A lone 18-year old female was walking northbound on Ash Street towards General Currie Road. As she approached the Paulik Park Community Garden around 7:30 pm, she was allegedly approached from behind by an unknown assailant. He pushed her to the ground and then forcibly sexually assaulted her. The female managed to fight off her attacker and eventually escaped.
     
    The suspect is described as a male, 5' 10 to 5' 11 (178 - 180 cm) tall, wearing darks pants, dark dress shoes, and a dark puffy jacket.
     
    We have a team of seasoned investigators working on this case. We are still active in the area, conducting comprehensive neighbourhood canvassing and analyzing video surveillance footage, says Corporal Dennis Hwang.
