A fraud victim in Richmond has lost more than 1.5 million dollars.
R-C-M-P say the victim reported sending the money after people posing as Chinese police officers falsely told them about a supposed outstanding arrest warrant in Hong Kong.
This prompted police to issue a public warning.
The public alert says this type of fraud scheme has targeted the Asian community, but everyone should be on the lookout.

Police in Sicamous are warning of a "potential public safety risk" after a male was arrested then released with conditions over the death of a woman at a mobile home park. RCMP say 66-year-old Jo Ann Jackson was treated by paramedics at the driveway of a home in the park on Wednesday but died at the scene.
