A woman in her 60s is a dead after a fire broke out in Richmond.
At approximately 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Richmond RCMP were called to the 8700 block of No. 1 Road.
The woman was found alone and unconcious inside her home. Emergency crews were unable to revive her.
Further details are being withheld at this time, pending notification of next of kin.
At this time, the fire does not appear to have been suspicious in nature.
Richmond Fire and the BC Coroners Service continue to investigate.
There are 273 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19 and 46 are in intensive care. In the past 24 hours, one new death (Northern Health) has been reported, for an overall total of 2,990.
