The Canadian Press, 30 Jan, 2016 01:18 PM
VANCOUVER — North Shore Rescue is searching for a 40-year-old snowboarder missing on Cypress Mountain.

Team leader Mike Danks says the Surrey man was supposed to be back by 2:30 p.m. Friday.

He was last seen on the west side of the mountain in West Vancouver.

Danks says crews have found a track leading below the Howe Sound Crest route.

Crews also responded to a second call Friday night for a group of missing skiers, also below the Howe Sound Crest route.

Rescue crews established cell phone contact and the skiers were escorted off the mountain safely.
