Metrotown station has been closed down by Transit Police and Burnaby RCMP are on scene there are reports of a shooting along with unconfirmed reports of a pipe bomb. The pipe bomb has been cleared. Burnaby RCMP has taken to Twitter to with various updates regarding the incident. Metrowtown Metropolis has been evacuated. There are several police cars in the area. Metrotown station and the bus loop remain closed. A bus bridge has been set up between Joyce and Royal Oak station. 

Commuters are asked to avoid the area.

British Columbia will be requiring proof of vaccination for people attending certain social and recreational settings and events. As of September 13, one dose of vaccine will be required for entry to these settings. Proof of vaccination will also be required for people visiting from outside of B.C. using a provincially/territorially recognized official record alongside valid government ID from the jurisdiction.
