    • Reduction in permit wait times for multiplex housing in Vancouver

    Vancouver is planning to reduce the time it takes to get a building permit for certain multiplex applications.

    The city says a streamlined permit application process starting early next year will take about half the time.

    Currently, multiplex projects are required to apply for a separate development permit followed by a building permit, but the city plans to combine them into one application.

    Multiplex applications with up to four dwellings on a single site and no more than two units per building will qualify.

    The B.C. Prosecution Service announced in a statement Thursday that the charge laid against Colin Basran last October has been dropped.     Daqwan Roshayne Howard Lee, 28, was arrested on Monday and charged with first-degree murder, aggravated assault and discharging a firearm with intent, Edmonton police said. Police said Barinder Singh and his daughter were "innocent victims of a wrongly targeted crime".

    Through investigation it was determined that the person who uttered the fraudulent bank drafts was utilizing another person’s identity. The suspect is described as a South Asian female, 5’7", slim build, with shoulder length dark hair. She spoke Hindi, Punjabi and English.
