  • RCMP seek witnesses to suspicious incident

North Vancouver RCMP are looking for witnesses to a suspicious incident that occurred in the Keith Lynn neighbourhood on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, between 2:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Three 9 year-old youths were playing at Michael Park, located at the corner of Drayton St. and E. 11th St., in North Vancouver, when they were approached by a suspicious man. The man, who was in a green truck with a canopy, invited the youths to get into his vehicle to have some juice. Sensing the situation was unsafe, the youths ran away, went home, and told their parents what had happened. 

The vehicle is described as:

  • Newer model pickup with canopy
  • Possibly Ford
  • Green or olive in colour

The suspicious male is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • 40-50 years old
  • Curly, grey, medium-length hair
  • Accent, possibly Spanish

He was described as wearing:

  • Grey t-shirt
  • Mirrored sunglasses

Anyone who was in the area at that time and witnessed the incident, or who has video surveillance or dash-cam footage that may have captured images of the vehicle, is asked to contact police by calling 604-985-1311. Police are also asking that the individual involved come forward to provide their account of the interaction.

In order to further our investigation, IHIT is releasing the name of the vctim, who has been identified as 57-year-old Sarbjeet Sander. Based on information gathered thus far, there appears to be no link to the ongoing Lower Mainland gang conflict. This incident is believed to be isolated and not random.
