RCMP Seek Female Suspect For Assaulting Surrey Bus Driver

The Canadian Press, 20 Mar, 2016 02:13 PM
Surrey RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect from an assault on a Transit driver.

On January 30th, at 6:25pm, Surrey RCMP was dispatched to an assault against a bus driver at the Guildford Bus Exchange, located in the 15100 block of 104th Avenue.

The bus driver had been punched in the face by the female suspect after she was not allowed to bring her scooter (similar to a bike) on board. The suspect fled the scene and has not been located. The bus driver received minor injuries as a result of this assault.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian female, approximately 40 years old, with ear length or shoulder length curly black hair, and a small build. She was wearing a purple puffy jacket and drove a two wheeled blue scooter with cream coloured wheels.

No one should have to endure this kind of treatment in the workplace, says Cpl. Scotty Schumann. We’re hopeful that someone will recognize the suspect so police can move forward with the investigation.

Anyone with more information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers, if they wish to remain anonymous, at 1-800-222-TIPS or www.solvecrime.ca.
