RCMP Say Sexual Assault May Be Related To Other Incidents At UBC

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 27 Mar, 2016 11:54 AM
VANCOUVER — Police say a 20-year-old woman has been sexually assaulted on the University of British Columbia campus.

Police say the woman was walking alone Friday night when a man suddenly came out of a wooded area and grabbed her, violently shaking her with both arms and forcing her to the ground.

The woman was hit in the head, but fought off the man — who fled — and called 911.

They say the incident may be related to a series of "night prowler events" where a man was seen lurking in bathrooms and bedrooms at UBC residences, and fled when he was detected.

Police say there have been five events reported since March 23 and no sexual offence was observed in any of the five cases.
