RCMP Say Latest Surrey Shooting Appears Connected To Spate Of Violence

Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 09 Jun, 2015 12:35 PM
SURREY, B.C. — Mounties say there has been more gunfire in Surrey, B.C., this time in a parking lot behind Earls restaurant  around 72nd Avenue and 120th Street.

Police say reports came in about shots being fired just after 9 p.m. on Monday, and they believe the violence is linked to the area's ongoing gang feud.

Investigators say two men who were eating at the diner appear to have been the intended targets, but the pair fled before police arrived.

They say the suspect vehicle also drove off immediately after the shooting; no injuries were reported, although the property was damaged.

Mounties say the shooting appears to be linked to a spate of others that have occurred in Surrey and neighbouring Delta over the past few months.

Sgt. Dale Carr says a large amount of evidence was collected at the scene and investigators believe they will be able to find some of the people involved.
