Rcmp In B.C. Ready To Unveil A New Strategy In Search For Accused Murderer

SURREY, B.C. — Police in British Columbia are preparing to announce a new strategy in the search for a wanted man.

Brandon Teixeira was 27 years old when he was charged with first-degree murder almost seven months ago and police believe he remains on the run.

The RCMP's Integrated Homicide Investigation Team says a new tactic in the search is ready to be announced at the team's headquarters in Surrey.

A warrant for Teixeira was issued last September, after the October 2017 shooting of Nicholas Khabra.

A woman with Khabra was injured in the attack.

Cpl. Frank Jang has described Teixeira as extremely violent, with several distinctive tattoos, including a sleeve tattoo on his left arm, but has also said he is likely "hunkered down," evading police, and may have altered his appearance.

Last September, Jang said Teixeira was likely still in the Metro Vancouver area, but also said he could have travelled to Edmonton or Calgary because he has associates in those cities.
