SAINT-MAURICE, Que. — Quebec provincial police say they have received about 200 tips as they continue their search for clues in the death of nine-year-old Cedrika Provencher.
Capt. Guy Lapointe told a news conference today the investigation into Provencher's slaying is progressing well but he refused to give many details.
He is confirming, however, that police are still interested in the driver of a Red Acura that was seen near where the girl disappeared in Trois-Rivieres in July 2007.
Passersby happened on her skull last Friday in a wooded area in nearby Saint-Maurice.
Lapointe says the search for clues may continue this weekend but, if it does, will involve fewer officers.
