Quebec Man Facing Charges In Arizona After 62 Kilograms Of Cocaine Found In Car

    MOHAVE COUNTY, United States — A Quebec man remains behind bars after authorities in Arizona allegedly found 62 kilograms of cocaine in his car.
     
    Girolamo Del Balso faces a number of felony charges including possession of narcotics for sale and transporting narcotics for sale.
     
    Local police gave details of the Feb. 17 arrest on their Facebook page.
     
    An Arizona State trooper stopped Del Balso for a traffic violation on an interstate and requested assistance from a Kingman Police Department K9 unit.
     
    A police dog named Amigo sniffed out 62 kilograms of cocaine police say was destined for Canada.
     
    They say the drugs had a street value of $3.7 million.
     
    Del Balso, who is from Laval, has alleged ties to the Mafia in Montreal.
     
    According to the Mohave County Jail's website where Del Balso was booked, he is still behind bars today.
