  • Quebec Couple Pick Up $60-Million Cheque After Winning Big In Lottery
QUEBEC — A school janitor who recently won $60 million in the lottery with his wife said Monday he has already called his boss to say he's quitting.

The couple from Saguenay, 200 kilometres north of Quebec City, say they still don't know what they will do with all the money, which they won in last Friday's Lotto Max draw.

"It's a bit surreal," Marie-Josee Picard told a news conference at the Loto-Quebec offices in Quebec City, adding she and her husband, Carl Villeneuve, are still in shock.

Picard, 46, and Villeneuve, 55, say some of the money will go to family.

The couple have three adult children in their 20s and a two-year-old granddaughter.

Picard is a cook, while Villeneuve is a school janitor who has already told his boss he is leaving.

"It's going to be bye bye boss," he said.

They both have modest incomes and haven't travelled.

Picard said she'd like to take a few weeks before deciding about money, but added she and her husband would like to buy a big house, a chalet and take a vacation — or several.
