Quebec City Cop Facing Charge From Accident That Killed Motorcyclist

Darpan News Desk IANS, 13 Apr, 2016 01:27 PM
QUEBEC — A Quebec City police officer faces a charge of dangerous driving causing death after a motorcyclist was struck last September.

Isabelle Morin has been charged in connection with an incident on Highway 73, the Crown said Tuesday.

At the time, provincial police, who handled the investigation, said a Quebec City cruiser reportedly made a U-turn in a construction zone and collided with the motorcyclist.

Jessy Drolet, 38, died in hospital and two officers in the police car suffered minor injuries.

The Crown said it informed the victim's family of the charge and would not be commenting further.

Quebec City police said Morin is still with the force but would be reassigned to administrative duties.
