B-C says it is taking steps to respond to early actions a steering committee has identified to reduce the risk and harms linked to toxic-drug poisonings on post-secondary school campuses.
The steering committee was formed in late May with the goal of having overdose prevention and response actions in place on B-C campuses for this year's fall semester.
They've been reviewing existing policies to identify gaps and recommend best practices in overdose prevention and response.
The early actions they've identified include providing clarity on contacting emergency services, expanding awareness of toxic drug alerts and enhancement of consistent access to naloxone.
