Premier Christy Clark Wishes 'Vaisakhi Di Lakh Lakh Vadai'!

, 12 Apr, 2017 11:15 AM
VANCOUVER - Premier Christy Clark, leader of Today’s BC Liberals, released the following statement on Vaisakhi:

Over the next few days, hundreds of thousands of British Columbians join millions of Sikhs around the world to celebrate Vaisakhi.

BC is home of the largest Vaisakhi celebration in North America – and possibly anywhere outside of India. It’s a testament to a community that has helped shape B.C. into what it is today: a prosperous, vibrant, multicultural society that is the envy of the world.

That’s why we declared this April the first-ever Sikh Heritage Month, and recognized historic places across the province where South Asian Canadians had a particular impact.

As we celebrate the birth of the Khalsa, Vaisakhi is also a chance for families, friends, and neighbours to come together. To all those celebrating Vaisakhi, may the coming year bring you health, success, and happiness.

    Lakh Lakh Vadai!
