MONTREAL — A preliminary hearing will be held in October for a former Montreal-area mayor charged with sexually assaulting a minor under the age of 16.
Two people, including the plaintiff, will testify at Gilles Deguire's hearing.
Deguire is facing charges of sexual assault and the sexual touching of a minor.
The alleged events took place between Dec. 1, 2013, and Oct. 23, 2015, in Montreal and elsewhere in the province.
Deguire, who is in his 60s, was still acting as mayor of Montreal North at the time. He resigned in January and was arrested shortly after.
The hearing will take place Oct. 7.
