Post-Tropical Storm Henri Moving Over The Grand Banks And Out To Sea

The Canadian Press, 12 Sep, 2015 01:41 PM
HALIFAX — The remnants of post-tropical storm Henri are moving across the Grand Banks off the east coast of Newfoundland.

The Canadian Hurricane Centre in Halifax says the disorganized storm is expected to degenerate into a weak trough before the end of the day.

Parts of Newfoundland's Avalon Peninsula are expected to get soaked with about 25 millimetres of rain.

Meteorologists say Henri did bring some gale-force winds to parts of the east coast of Newfoundland and to the Grand Banks where warnings were issued.

On Friday night, a vessel sailing about 200 kilometres east of the storm's centre reported southerly gales at 76 kilometres per hour and seas estimated at 3.5 metres.
