Port Moody Police arrest knife brandishing teen

Police in Port Moody are investigating after arresting a 15-year-old who allegedly brandished a knife while chasing another teen through a crowd of students at a busy bus stop.

Police say it happened yesterday afternoon (in the 13-hundred block of David Avenue) when a fight between two young people escalated into the armed chase.

The youth being chased was able to escape unhurt, and police say officers arrested the knife-wielding suspect last night.

Investigators say video of the chase might be circulating and they are asking witnesses to contact them.

The suspect then allegedly hit the victim with the bat and kicked him before fleeing on foot with a group of 4-5 youths. Bystanders provided first aid to the 18-year man until such time that emergency first responders arrived on scene.
