Port Alberni, 20, Father Now Charged With Manslaughter After Infant Dies In Hospital

    PORT ALBERNI, B.C. — A charge of aggravated assault has been upgraded to manslaughter against a British Columbia father whose baby daughter died of critical injuries.
     
    Warren Baader was initially charged on Nov. 2 after his two-month-old infant was injured in the Vancouver Island community of Port Alberni.
     
    The little girl died on Nov. 3.
     
    RCMP say the child was brought to the West Coast General Hospital on Oct. 28, and later transferred to BC Children's Hospital.
     
    Details on what happened to her have not been released.
     
    Twenty-year-old Baader's next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 30.
