Darpan News Desk The Canadian Press, 28 Dec, 2014 11:13 AM

SURREY, B.C. — British Columbia's police watchdog is investigating a shooting in Surrey involving transit police.

The Independent Investigations Office says the incident took place just after 8 a.m. (near King George Boulevard and 104th Avenue).

The agency says there were reports of a man stabbing himself in a store.

It says the man took off when transit police approached, but officers tracked him down and shots were fired.

He was taken to hospital but his condition isn't known at this time.
